Saturday, 27th March 2010: Sheraton Grande Laguna was leaving guests in the dark. But it's all for a good cause.
In observance of Earth Hour, a worldwide event organized by the World Wildlife Fund, Sheraton Grande Laguna turned off all non-essential lights, computer equipment, and air conditioning in all vacant guestrooms. Candle lighting was used in the restaurants, plant equipment, pond and pool pumps were shut down during Earth Hour. Guests were invited to join a candlelit "Lights Out Cocktail Party" at the beachfront restaurant. These activities aim to highlight to the resort's ambassadors and guests the sustained importance of thinking about preserving the environment.
